Our History

Hello Lamp Post was officially founded in March 2018, but the idea existed long before that.

It all started as a one-off digital art installation after we won Watershed’s Playable City Award in 2013. We wanted to take something familiar - Bristol’s existing infrastructure - and make it playful and interactive.

The public’s response to our Bristol installation was incredible, and it was at that moment we realised the potential to do so much more. You could say it was our lightbulb moment. Since then, our journey has taken us across the globe, with support from industry leaders like Meta and Microsoft.

Our goal is to one day make every corner of the world interactive, reaching and supporting people everywhere.
